Eleven Candles, One Mission: Celebrating Chimple Day 2026

On 26th March 2015, a small but fiercely purposeful team registered Sutara Learning Foundation with a single, bold belief: that every child, regardless of where they were born, what language they spoke, or how far they lived from the nearest school, deserved the joy of learning.

Eleven years later, on 26th March 2026, that belief is still burning brightly. And this year, the team gathered to celebrate it together.

Three Days to Reflect, Reconnect, and Reimagine

From 24th to 26th March, the Chimple Learning team came together for a three-day workshop, a rare and precious opportunity to step back from the busy rhythm of fieldwork, and look at the full picture of what they had built, learned, and still dreamed of doing.

The first two days were dedicated to honest, open reflection. Teams revisited the past year's implementation milestones, learning outcomes, operational challenges, and achievements across the nine states where Chimple now reaches children every day. Product directions and systems were discussed, not just from a headquarters perspective, but through the lens of what would actually make life smoother and more effective for the teams working closest to communities, classrooms, and families.

Planning for the new academic year took centre stage too, setting clear priorities and targets, so that every Program Associate walking into a school or a village would know exactly what they were working toward and why.

The Heart of It: Samvaad Conversations

Of all the moments across the three days, the Samvaad Conversations stood out most.

Program Associates, the people who train teachers, follow up with parents, troubleshoot devices in village schools, and keep the learning ecosystem alive at the last mile, took the floor to share their experiences, candidly and openly. Their stories of perseverance, empathy, and daily problem-solving on the ground were, as one team member put it, "truly inspiring."

This is the human layer behind Chimple's numbers. Behind every child who clocked 60 minutes of learning on the app this week, behind every teacher who assigned homework via WhatsApp, behind every parent who adjusted their evening routine so their child could learn, there is a Program Associate who made it possible.

Hearing these voices is not just meaningful. It is essential.

A Milestone Moment with Leadership

The workshop also brought a special opportunity: Program Associates were able to meet directly with Founder and CEO Srikanth Talapadi and the leadership team, share lunch together, and have real conversations about the work. These moments, where the people building the mission from the ground up sit at the same table as those steering it from the top, are the kind that create genuine alignment, trust, and momentum.

It was, simply put, a day that reminded everyone why they joined Chimple in the first place.

Eleven Years of Joyful, Lasting Impact

Chimple's name itself is a clue to its soul, born from the words "Children" and "Simplicity," it has always been about making learning accessible, instinctive, and joyful for India's youngest learners.

From being one of just five Global Learning XPRIZE finalists among 198 teams worldwide, to piloting in 10 BMC schools in Mumbai, to launching Chimple 1.0 and 2.0, to reaching over 635,000 children across 9 states and scaling to 389 schools in Ghaziabad district alone, the journey has been extraordinary. And yet, the team speaks not of how far they have come, but of how much further they want to go.

Happy Chimple Day

The final day of the workshop, 26th March, Chimple Day, arrived with laughter, team games, shared memories, and a collective renewal of purpose. Not just a birthday celebration, but a commitment ceremony. A moment to appreciate the journey, strengthen the bonds between teammates, and walk back into the new academic year re-energized, re-focused, and ready.

The workshop closed with each person sharing their personal commitment, a simple, honest answer to the question: How will I do better for the children we serve?

Eleven years in, that question still drives everything.

Here's to the next eleven!
