How We Prepare for a District-Wide Learning Campaign

As schools get ready to reopen, one thing becomes especially clear: learning continuity cannot wait for the first day back. That is why we used the Chimple Premier League, our summer learning campaign, to prepare the systems, communication, and support needed for a district-wide learning push.
The campaign was designed around a simple idea: school closure should not mean learning pause. Instead, it can become a time for revision, practice, and gentle habit-building at home. To make that possible, we focused on the layers that hold a campaign together, product readiness, WhatsApp nudges, in-app reminders, dashboard monitoring, and local-language communication.
This work was not created in isolation. It built on what we learned during the shift from pilot to district scale in Ghaziabad, where centralized data collection, teacher on-boarding, regular review rhythms, and parent engagement helped move the program from a small rollout to a much larger district-wide model. Those lessons shaped how we planned the summer campaign as well.
One of the biggest learnings was that scale depends on clarity. Families need timely reminders, teachers need simple workflows, and field teams need a clear dashboard to track what is happening. The campaign helped us strengthen all three. We also used it to test how well our nudges, pop-ups, and reward mechanisms could support consistent participation without adding pressure on teachers.
As schools reopen, this preparation matters even more. The goal is not just to welcome children back into class, but to welcome them back with momentum. A district-wide learning campaign works best when it feels seamless for children, manageable for adults, and steady enough to keep practice going through seasonal transitions.
In that sense, the Chimple Premier League was more than a summer activity. It was a way of getting ready for the academic year ahead, by strengthening the systems that help children keep learning, even before the school bell rings again.
