At Chimple, we build tools for children. Every game, every learning pathway, every story in the app is designed with a child's safety, dignity, and joy at its centre. So when it comes to understanding the laws that protect children and the people who work with them, we believe this is not just an organizational responsibility, it is a deeply personal one.

That is why, in a full day of learning at our Bengaluru office, the entire Chimple team came together for two back-to-back training seminars on POCSO and POSH, conducted by Enfold Proactive Health Trust, one of India's most respected organisations working in the field of child protection, personal safety, and gender-based violence prevention.

The first session focused on POCSO, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. This landmark legislation was designed to address all forms of sexual abuse against children in a comprehensive, gender-neutral way. The law defines various forms of abuse, and prescribes strict punishments while ensuring child-friendly processes for reporting, investigation, and trial. For an organization like Chimple, whose work directly touches the lives of children across communities and classrooms, understanding POCSO is not just about compliance. It is about being a responsible part of every child's ecosystem.
After a short break, the session shifted to POSH, the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Built on the Vishaka Guidelines issued by the Supreme Court of India, the POSH Act places a clear obligation on employers to create safe, respectful workplaces and to establish Internal Complaints Committees for the redressal of harassment complaints. The session walked employees through what constitutes harassment, the rights and responsibilities of everyone in the workplace, and how to respond with sensitivity and accountability if an issue arises.
What stood out about the day was not just the quality of the facilitation, it was how actively the Chimple team engaged. There were questions, conversations, and moments of genuine reflection throughout both sessions. It was the kind of learning that does not feel like a compliance checkbox. It felt like a team choosing to be informed, aware, and responsible, for each other and for the children they serve.
At Chimple, we have always believed that a safe learning environment for children starts with safe, informed adults around them. This day was a meaningful step in that direction, and a reminder that the values we build into our app must also be lived inside our team.
